In 1973 Max Bowman attended a meeting of Equipment Distributors in Chicago and discoverd a company that had produced a red dot and claimed it to be the wave of the future. That red dot turned out to be a sewer laser and was reported to assist an underground contractor in laying down sewer pipe in a straight line with the proper fall to give drainage. After some long consideration Max decided to take on the distribution for AGL in the state of Iowa, and intern brought the first sewer laser into the state of Iowa.
Over the next 20 years Star has continued to bring more innovative laser products to the State of Iowa. Star brought the first General Construction Laser, the first Interior Laser, the first Machine Control systems, GPS, & Survey products as well.
Additionally Star always provides training to run the lasers and calibrates them to maintain their accuracy and in 2000 brought the first Iowa based full service repair facility for Lasers, GPS, Machine Control, & Survey equipment. Star has always prided itself in being full service regardless of the equipment we are selling.
